| Customer Reviews: Got neuropathy and looking for excellent moisture wicking? March 28, 2010 Anthony L. Pena (Nashville, TN USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Got neuropathy and you're looking for a comfortable pair of non-binding socks for better circulation? At the same time you're looking for socks with excellent moisture wicking properties (cuts down on blisters), and you'd like a little padding on the soles? Chances are that you'll want to try out a pair of these Wigwam socks.
I confess that I've always preferred the feel of cotton or wool socks. However cotton tends to have lousy moisture wicking properties, and I've recently decided that my lower legs are sensitive to wool.
Wigwam makes the only circulatory friendly socks I've found that are non-wool, with moisture wicking fibers (45% Olefin, 30% X20® Acrylic, 25% Stretch Nylon), and have a little padding on the soles. Patented X20® Acrylic repels moisture and has the added plus of exhibiting antimicrobial properties.
Wigwam makes another pair of non-binding socks that are a wool blend and (I'm guessing) likely have superior padding on the sole: the Wigwam Wool Diabetic Walker. The sock is 62% patented "Wool Dri-release" (88% Polyester, 12% Wool), and 38% Stretch Nylon. If you have no problem wearing merino wool socks, then you might want to try a pair of them instead or also. I'll probably eventually break down and buy a pair and see if I've actually got a problem with wool.
Another plus of buying Wigwam is that they are made in the USA (Sheboygan, to be exact).
Beat all the rest for sensitive feet June 5, 2010 Fred (Sacramento, CA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I tested this sock against over 2 dozen other brands and styles for sensitive feet (diabetic and otherwise). This sock came out number one because it did not bind my leg or fall down. These are not compression socks. They were comfortable to wear all day. Other socks were so thin, they developed holes after the first washing.
These crew socks were true to size. I have a size 12, 4E flat foot. I re-ordered the Large (sizes 9 - 12) because it fit better than the extra large (sizes 12-15). The extra large was too loose and fell down during the day. The Large size was perfect for me. Stayed in place without binding my leg.
After repeated washings, they are still soft without any holes. Both the black and white are excellent and identical in fit and wear.
Bonus feature: With "Wigwam" written on the side, I can keep my white socks separated from my wife's socks.
Great socks for everyday use! January 11, 2010 R. Soto 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had problems with my previous socks because they left a mark in my calf as I had to wear them for +8 hours a day in a sedentary work (mostly seated the whole time). My therapist recommended this type of socks to avoid blood congestion and swelling and they have done the job. They're very comfortable, cozy and hold their own for everyday use. I must buy at a great price.
Diabetic Socks August 16, 2010 Peggy (Sacramento, CA) Socks are comfortable but do slip down. Wash up very well with no shrinkage.
